Awesome, let me know if the ABS does the trick..

Did you code it yourself? I have a cable now...I got remote coded/mapupdate/Alpina B3 Flash this week.

Coded it myself. I only edited the VO and the KOMBI module.

So I've been searching extensively, and I can't find anything about coding on the RPA system (ABS-based tire monitoring) on the E9x platform. I read a few things suggesting that it would be on by default if the RDC system is disabled, so I guess I'll just leave it at that for now. I don't know if I want to actually test it. Hopefully I'll never need it, but I'll report back what happens if I ever do get a flat.

Hmm, it shows an error message in iDrive. I should probably find someone with a Canadian X1 who can send me a dump of their code files.

I believe in canada they have an FTM system. (Flat tire monitor) That might help for searching. I'm not sure if our ABS system will indicate a flat.....

I believe that the underlying systems are all there in our US cars, but that we have the RDC system thrown in on top of everything else. Really, I should be able to work with files from any non-US E84. Ideally, though, the same as mine: xDrive 28i.

TPMS

I d/c'd the TPMS last fall when I mounted my snows and programmed it so the car would not search for it. I would certainly like to reprogram in now to use the ABS sensors for TPMS like the ROW cars do.
All contributions welcome and appreciated!

Disabled the TPMS on my 135 this morning, will do the X1 tonight. Next step, wheel-speed TPMS added to both cars.

Well, nothing exploded yet. No warning lights or anything, and looking at the iDrive screen it looks like it's working. But I haven't had time to test it out yet. If I have a chance this weekend I'll let one of the rear tires down a bit and go on a little test drive.

Nice, let us know.

Looks like RPA on the 135 is going to be a bit tougher, if even possible.

It's an '08 (so CCC?). No CIC module. I have the two options that you listed in my Kombi, but so far, haven't found any others in modules listing RPA anything. Nothing in the CAPPL module either.

Anyone know the CCC equivalent to CIC?

Doesn't look good. None of the modules had any more references to RPA. And my Cappl had:

RDC : CCC

but no

RPA : CCC

Looks like it's not built into the modules to the extent it needs to be.

So, no iDrive in the 135, I guess? I don't know, the other settings *might* be enough. How does TPMS/FTM display in non-iDrive vehicles?

You could also try to find someone else outside of the US with an E89/9x chassis and no iDrive and see if you can get their code dumps.

The other thing I'd suggest is just go through all of the individual modules and find all of the RPA and RDC references, then just take a shot at it.

Sorry for the lack of clarity, it has the older iDrive (CCC vs. CIC). As mentioned above, none of the other modules have anything RPA related. Only the Kombi shows any lines with "RPA" in them (of FTM, DWS, etc.) Looks like it didn't come with enough to get it working.

Oh well, it should work on the X1, 1/2 ain't bad!

X1 RDC disable/RPA enable went smoothly, just as you described. No more lights!

Thanks!

100% working

As a test I dropped the right rear tire down from 41 to about 29 psi. I then drove for less than a mile and got this:

Verdict: complete success. And I'm very happy that I now have absolutely zero need for TPMS on this car. I can drive confident that the car will warn me if a tire loses pressure in between my regular manual checks.
