Me too - I think the X1 could be like a 1M wagon with the right mods! Get either engine, dial up the boost and slap on some lowering springs or coil overs! Use the M sport model with 19"s in one of the 1M colors AW/BSM or VO for best effect!

Hartge already has a piggyback system for the N20 engine; as does Burger:
One is $1200 and the other is under $400. http://burgertuning.com/N20_BMW_performance_Tuner.html I think it will be even more interesting to see when Dinan comes out (due to warranty) and Active Autowerke. But yes; I'm excited which is why I ordered the 28i version. |

My wife's 1er has the old ZF 6 speed. It's not that bad. The newer 8s is certainly nicer though and enough better that we're leaning towards the 28i over the 35i simply because of the transmission.
Let us know what you think after driving both. |

I am waiting for an x1 35i m sport. Should arrive in the next couple of weeks . E mailed burger motor sports and Terry said that the stage 1 will work. Not certain about he harness, will wait to order till I see the harness. But I would also like to use there down pipe and see if I bumped the hp a bit. I think it will be a great ride. If any one gets a stage one, please post ! Would like stage 2 if possible . Thanks

Gas mileage would suffer a bit (depending on how they are tuning the engine) and performance would increase. Depending on how your dealership is; it may (and sometime always does) affect the warranty. So if they see that you've added a piggy back ECU / module and your engine ran lean; they can say well that is because of the aftermarket ECU. |

I thought the 6 speed was just fine, I loved driving the 35 yesterday. It is quick! Flooring it from a slow rolling stop (1-3mph) it was like an almost instant 60mph. I haven't driven the 28 so I can't compare yet, but I can say for sure that the 35 doesn't seem to suffer from not having the 8 speed. That's not to say that it wouldn't be the root of all awesome if it had the 8 speed...

Glad to hear that it works, I was fairly confident. I had to remove the cowl on my N55 135i to install it, is the wiring the same as most N55's?
Also looking at the downpipes and midpipes, the exhaust looks almost the same as an E82 except that it has N54 mids and not N55 mids? |
