Those should look nice with the sports line.
I've been debating if I should switch out my grills. I don't have my car yet, but I ordered the same color combo as you have: Black Sapphire Metallic with black interior. But I did NOT get the sports line or any line for that matter. Just the basic car with 17" wheels. So my front and rear lower bumper will be silver. Based on that I was thinking to maybe get the silver grills that are on the X-line. Or I may just leave the standard grills. I actually like the way the sports line looks better, but I did not want 18" wheels. I wish they had offered the sports line without the 18" wheels and charged a little bit less for it. I most likely would have gotten it just for the sports seats. |

I'm so hoping the aftermarket vendors will make a grill that look like the latest 5er and 6er Ms with the double sills. That I would install without thinking. Right now I'm thinking to blacken the one I have.

Yes these are the performance grills. Eric, You always could have ordered a sport line and have spotted out to a 17". Although, I don't know why you wouldn't want the 18s.
Thanks for the vote of confidence Mark. I'll try to come back in one piece. |

Roads around here are really bad. My last car had 18s and I bent wheels, and that car did NOT have run flats. Considering the run flats, I decided I would be better off with some more tire and less wheel for both a smoother ride, and lower chance of bending the wheels.

Installed, way more work than what I expected. Ended up removing the bumper cover as the clips didn't want to come loose and stay loose. Sorry about the dirty car, it's winter in Calgary.

Looks great! I had a bitch of a time swapping mine, too. I did manage to get it done without removing the bumper cover, although I lost a screwdriver in the process -- dropped it behind the bumper cover though, and that's where the sucker will stay.

Surprisingly, the bumper cover comes off extremely easily, just takes some time. Definitely recommend doing it this way as opposed to the pry and pull technique.

Any chance you could change your last post title from "these" and make it a little clearer what the thread is about? Would save folks (like me) opening up the thread to find out what the subject is. Thanks!

PLEASE for the love of all that is //AMG do not put the double slat grills on a non //M car. I know that i have no authority as a stranger on the internet but putting a distinct //M feature on a non-//M car just is in poor taste, as most would agree. sorry to piss on your parade...

Technically, the black grilles are ///M.
