X1 delay in Australia?

Mine is red but i didnt order it, it was ordered by a some dealership and my dealer just sourced it for me.

This red one that I could have taken earlier was fully equipped with lots of add-ons, incl 18 inch wheels, satnav, the works I think.

I cracked the sh*** with my dealership. I understand that things can be delayed (originally should be arriving now, then august and now sept) but I got pi$$3d off when the sales bot tried to feed me a bucket of lies.

He said he was throwing in A$575 for free, which is the headlight washers. I am getting the xenon lights and I said to the sales bot that under Australian design standard that these come included. I have confirmed this with 3 other BMW dealers, in different states. If you select Xenon lights you automatically get the washers included.
The $575 is optional if you have standard lights.

Secondly he promised to call me back to discuss. Surprisingly it didn't happen - which was a common theme with this sales bot. I have had to constantly prompt him for answers. I eventually called the GM of the dealership to raise my concerns. I really took offense to being offered the headlight washers as an act of good will, when they come with the car. What next - a free steering wheel?

When I went to a dealer in Melbourne, they punched in all the numbers in a spreadsheet to come up with the total price. When we asked to see the breakdown of the on-road costs, it showed that they were calculating the stamp duty with a percentage higher than the 5% in Vic. When we asked them to use the correct percentage, he tried to convince us that we were getting a discount off the total price!

At least over here in Germany Xenon headlights also require the washers by law. The online car-configurator adds the washer-option automatically when you check the Xenon headlights. The Xenons are EUR 600, and the washers EUR 270. If you want Xenon you have to pay for both! So when the dealer offered you the AUS 575 discount he actually offered you a discount ;-)

I ordered in early may from Brisbane BMW and expecting delievry next week or early the week after.... In saying that I did miss the next build by a few days so there was a delay. I was told however late july which obviously hasn't happened

True, but in the documentation from BMW Australia it states :

"Bi-Xenon Headlights for high and low beam incl. daytime running lights, headlight washing system, plus four light rings and automatic headlight range control."

From that quote above it does state that the Xenon lights include the washing system. Therefore it could be said that there is no additional costs.

I am picking up mine today!!! Cant believe the dealer actually turned out to be true to his word.....i bought it last month and they are actually delivering it exactly on time after just 4 weeks.....woohoo!

I am picking mine up this Sat. My dealing with the dealer so far has been excellent. He said the car would be here by late August 4 months ago and he is ahead of schedule.

I just saw a post about tracking the ship my car is on and looked up my VIN. My car docked at Port Kembla (NSW) yesterday!!! I have to wait for it to come to Melbourne. It's only been 5 months!

Argh. I just checked the voyage of the ship, and it was in Melbourne before it was in NSW. I wish I'd bought my car from a dealer in Melbourne. 8-(

How did you check that?

My pathetic dealer hasn't told me about this feature.

You will need the VIN of your car. Enter that in the Cargo ID of the following link:
http://www.2wglobal.com/www/customer...LaunchPage.htm
And then click on the Voyage number. If your car is on the same ship, it should have arrived in Brisbane today!

Hey guys

i ordered my xdrive 2.0D at the very start of April from a Melbourne dealer and received it in the last week of august! I was told end June, then July and finally got in August. The dealer told me that the wait is now 7 - 8 months!
