New Shell 93 octane gas

I just filled up with the new Shell 93 octane gas and I have been getting 3+ miles per gallon more. I haven't changed my driving habits or anything else except for the gas. If this keeps up, I'll be using it all of the time.

They just released a new blend..something "Nitro+". It was some additives that are supposed to reduce friction remove deposits a bit better.

Seriously doubt it's 3 mpg (10-15% increase is pretty unbelievable)...but it's said to be worth something.

I notice a .05mpg increase with it over other Top Tier fuels. (especially Costco)

Hmmm, is it Ethanol free? That could explain some of the gain.

There is a lot of talk on the web, but in Canada it is ethanol free. In the USA it seems to be region specific.

In BC I found gas station (Esso) selling 94 sans ethanol, and in Boulder NV. the Rebel gas station selling (competition) 100 octane at $7.99 a gallon.

Yes, at least in some States we're getting 92 octane.

Ethanol free is the first choice and Octane the second:
