Can you paddle shift even in D mode

I would like to know if you can paddle shift even if you are in D mode? I know many other cars can temporarily manual paddle shift up or down and then it would go to auto after several seconds.

Yes you can. I find this very useful e.g a quick downshift or two to get some 'engine braking' when going downhill, or prior to overtaking.

Agreed. The best part of it is when you make a big sharp cornering, just downshift to get engine brake, so that you don't need to press the brake. Engine brake is very effective. (Guess that will cause more abrasion to your engine?)

Just to verify, you don't need to shift into M to use the paddle shift correct, you can do it in D? After you shifted, does it revert back to auto if don't shift any more?
