Coolant flush

Engine light on
Had P0597

I Installed new thermostat housing myself.

Used ohm Meter on the old one and it was open circuit
Closed circuit on new. Hopefully it works.

Previous mechanic replaced failed plastic oil cooler. It was a big mess , coolant and engine oil all mixed together.

Unfortunately they really didn't get all the oil out of coolant. Coolant reservoir always had oil in it.

I siphoned all the coolant from reservoir and with the oil.

I wouldn't of thought that oil floats on top of coolant but it does. So hopefully most of it was just building up in reservoir.

Here's my question:
Can you use the coolant pump in auto prime mode to flush entire engine?

Disconnect prime line from reservoir and keep pouring coolant into it ? [IMG][/IMG]
