How FAST???

I had the opportunity to let the ponies go yesterday, and let off @ an indicated 138, and still climbing. Isn't there a speed limited built in?

Garage List
My car has surpassed 260km/h or 155mph. Non M-sport, maybe the Dinan but I doubt it. I think there was something to add high speed maximum when I bought my car and I'm pretty sure it has it.

Pretty sure the N20 is drag limited to around 143 in stock form. So if the limiter was removed, your added power could get you to the 155 mark.

s28i M Sport 145 corrected, 147 corrected with tailwind.

Speedo will say 153-155 governed not held back by wind or it would have hit 160 with tail wind.

Better not do it with staggered 9x18 and 8x18 or the sway will convince you to slow down.

I took some stagger out with 12mm BMS spacers ONLY ON FRONT.

Doesn't sway anymore.

Mine felt steady as a rock on good pavement@138 indicated. I have staggered 19s, too. Very impressed, and I'll try to crack 140 indicated or higher next time I try that road. Stock, except for drop in K&N.

Was it you along with some one else that did the 12mm front spacers for better stabilization.
The Rears on my Stag. S/Up stick out 13mm more although then dont look it and on a recent trip I was doing 80mph up to 90mph and the car felt quite stable. Maybe over 100mph it will probably start swaying.
Our Max. Speed Limit is 110Kph and 100Mph=160Kph.
I am still thinking about putting the 12mm Spacers on the front to balance the stance out with the back.
Do you have any other thoughts, thanks.

GTony,

I picked up my s28i M Sport in Munich, and tried to folliow the big boys on the autobahn after it had 1500 miles.

With a little wind with only 120 mph on the speedo, it would change lanes for me.

Some said the sway was aerodynamic, but I could see that the front track was 1inch shorter on square setup, and another inch with the staggered 8x18 and 9x18 wheels.

Everyone puts spacers for looks, but I want drivability so I came up with idea in May 2014 and put BMS 12mm spacers.

The steering was too light stock, but now has a firm feel, dialed out some understeer, and is stable right up to 145.

Might even make square setup work better, since some cars have more narrow rear track.
