Press the DSC for longer than 10 sec
According to the manual, if we want to turn the DSC off completely, we need to press the DSC button for several seconds, but no longer than 10 sec. What would happen if I press it longer than 10 sec?
I tried it on my car, I pressed it for about 12 sec, the DSC light just turned off. Then, no matter how long I press the DSC button, there is no responding... I had to turn the engine off and started it again... Everything returned to normal again... Last edited by rchendesign; 12-03-2013 at 12:09 PM.. |

It's a system called Dynamic Stability Control.
''Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) guarantees vehicle stability when the wheels are turning - whether you're driving, braking or being towed.'' from www.bmw.com |

Provided you hit it for the full ten seconds and the second icon (there's one for the first press and a second for the full deactivation) lights up, it's off. As you noted, it resets each time you turn the car off.
