Hi

In the Uk power mirrors came as an optional extra, or with the Comfort Pack... On the MY10 models at least.

If you don't have the little round button next the switch that controls which mirror you're adjusting... you can't have power mirrors.

I too have the big mirrors (which I think are much better than the small ones in my opinion), and have the little round button to fold them in.

Have you got that button?

J.

Under the joystick button I have the selector button that choose the mirror you would like to adjust.
If is set for right side, when I put in "R" the right mirror goes down, if I leave it on left is doing nothing. But that's about it.

Do you guys have two buttons?

Yes. One to select which side is adjusted, the other for folding/unfolding the mirrors.

Yeah, I don't have the folding button; only the one that allows me to switch between mirrors.
Mine is the same like the attached picture.

So, I guess for me is a no option...
Interesting, fully loaded vehicle but I don't have that. Oh well, I guess this is how they came in 2012, mine was one of the first X1 in Canada.

Do your mirrors fold manually? They did on my E46.

Yes, they do. It was a fancy thing to have them fold automatically, but honestly I don't really need that feature.

My apologies for not noticing you are in Canada. It could be that the folding mirrors are not available in Canada.

If they're closer to EU than US legislation for this, they will have knock-off-able breakaway mirrors for pedestrian safety, which may or may not be compatible with the motor function.

Canadian here too! The power folding is just a plus. But the bigger side mirror is definitely more advantageous than the newer smaller ones. Try jumping into the newer models after you have driven your 2012 x1, a big difference when you change lanes.
