Uncomfortable Seat

Hey All. Has anyone got to the point of tearing phone books in half concerning the seat adjustment. I just can't seem to get comfortable in the driver's seat. My left leg begins to hurt during my normal 30 minute commute into work. I am not a large person, 5 ' 11", 161 lbs. I continually shift trying to get comfortable but cannot seem to achieve this, even after fiddling constantly with the seat controls. Putting the seat forward and putting the seat low/far back.....frustrating

Does anyone have the same experience or suggestions?

Thanks

I've never been in a more comfortable seat. They are leatherette and not sport seats.
Do you have the regular or sport seats?
Perhaps you just need to adjust your wheel, or raise/lower your seat.
It could be something small that puts your back in a weird spot.

If you have the adjustable lumbar, I find it makes a big difference.

You're doing it wrong. You need to use the entire phone book to adjust the seat height. Preferably packed in a towel.

Nice one Grovsnus. I have the regular leatherette seat. I have tried up and down, seat forward, seat laid back. No idea about lumbar support

I just made sure to get the comfortable seat option/upgrade.

I also find the regular non-sport non-lumbar seats to be terribly uncomfortable. But if one is clever, one can make some simple customizations to one's seat to add one's own lumbar support, and even beef-up the bolsters, to help correct this.

Do you have the non-power non-sport seat? That one is problematic because it doesn't have a tilt adjustment, only forward-backward and up-down.

I indeed have the non-power non-sport seats. If had known beforehand just how uncomfortable they are I would have upgraded them.

I've been looking to replace my standard seats with a set of M-Sport seats but finding a specific set for an X1 is difficult to say the least. E9X M-Sport front seats are easier to find but does anyone know if they will bolt straight into an X1?

I'm quite happy with our non-sport premium package seats. Sorry you're having trouble.

I find the X1 M sport seats very comfortable with plenty of adjustment.

Me too, but a more, ehrm, what's the polite word - voluptuous person I know can't get comfortable. The bolsters are made for normal sized or smaller persons.

My only real complaint with the seats is that there isn't a wedge for the seat extension. The Recaro seat I had before came with a wedge, which not only makes it feel better, but prevents the extended seat from jumping back if you lift your leg wrong.

Oh, and that I haven't found the magic trick for removing the any of the headrests.

I have the premium seats, and found them uncomfortable as well. I think I might have found the proper adjustment though (fingers crossed). The one thing that is still a problem is the headrest is WAY too far forward and there is not adjustment to move them back. When you adjust the seat the proper way, the headrest forces your head forward and causes back pain. Are there any fixes for this?

I took a 8 hr. trip to north Maine from NYC a little while ago. The seats (noline) were adequate - comfortable but not great. However, it was really the headrest which bothered me. About 4-5 hours in it got annoying that they are pitched forward so you cant rest your head back on them and my neck started hurting. In retrospect, I shouldve tested out the sportline seats.

I didn't even think about the seats until after I test drove with each kind: sport vs standard. The sport seats became a MUST-have after that. The standard seats look nice, but are hard, slippery, and uncomfortable. It didn't matter if they were leather or leatherette. The sport seats address all of these issues, although the thick bolstering around the chest can be an issue for larger chested people.
