Turn Signal Lights on Side Mirrors

My newly purchased X1 is my first vehicle that has this blinking lights for turn signals with the side mirrors. Is it just me or some can relate to me that it bothers me. Every time that I'm changing lanes and using the turn signal momentarily, the blinking light blinds me and what usually takes me a split second or a second to check my blind spot now is taking me about at least 3 seconds or more. When I'm looking at the side mirror while using the turn signal, I really have to concentrate more carefully. Is it just me or really these turn signal lights with the side mirrors are really loud!!

It's a BMW, stop signaling.

It bothered me at first but I got used to it somewhere along the line as I haven't really thought about it in a while.

I'm with you. It's distracting how bright these are. Also, when I drive my wife's Edge, the warning lights for blind-spot proximity are nearly in the same visual area.

You can paint just the portion that distracts you or put some kind of sticker there.

I've tinted mine with exterior tint. Hides them well with the black mirror covers and also dims the light output

It blinds you? Really?

I appreciate them. Especially since we have red rear signals instead of amber. It's an extra layer of safety for those behind/beside that you're planning to turn.

I know they are there for extra safety measures and believe me when I see people that has them, I go wow, what a brilliant idea! Now that Im using a vehicle that has them, find it more distructing for me to keep staring at those blinking lights while concentrating to see what's on the mirror. I guess the better design is let the blinking light be visible to all other drivers but not to the driver of that vehicle. So I guess one thing I can do is to plasti dip just the part of the blinking lights that can be seen by me, the driver.

This has bothered me too at times, but I do like the safety factor. Have thought about crafting a small light shield to stick on near the lights so that they're less visible to the driver but still visible to the drivers behind me, but haven't done it yet. I suppose a chunk of electrical tape would sort of work too, for a while.

Also my first side mirror turn signals...I like them, look pretty cool. No distraction...
