Headlight lens cleaner

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum.

I just bought my car (used) and the lenses were/are pretty dirty. My BF did a great job in getting most of the schmutz off, using brake fluid.

There's still some residue on the other lens, but we don't want to get too aggressive, like sanding, etc. We bought the Rainex kit and it sucks. Any advice?

TIA,
Susie

Take it to a detailer. He'll do the sanding for you. Should be $50>.

Thank you. Yeah, I think I will go that route. There's a Groupon in my area that does a full headlight restoration for $39. I guess I can just pay extra for the fogs and side lights.

Thanks "Game" for the advice, I just bought the Groupon because they had an extra 20% off for local deals.

Came out to around $35. Next is replacing the rear-window tint that is all bubbled up; cant barely see out of it. "They" say it's more expensive removing/replacing the rear because they have to carefully remove the old one without disturbing the defrost thingys. But, that's for another thread...

In the past I have just peeled it right off. Just be careful. Then use water to remove the glue. When peeling the tint and rubbing off the glue gently go parallel to the defroster lines. If in doubt ask a window tinter what to do.

Makes sense, Game; going against the grain may cause some damage. I think they may over-dramatized the labor involved. Regardless, I'll first try to remove it myself. Thanks again!

p.s. I guess there's no way of attaching a photo/image to a post???
