Putting out a quick feeler post while my paper title is en route from North Carolina. I've got an offer from Carvana and wanted to see if anyone was in the market and interested in beating it by a couple of bucks.

2015 X1 35i M Sport
~34.5K miles
Le Mans blue, black interior
Ultimate package
Harmon Kardon stereo
2 keys/fobs
18" square wheel setup - all 4 tires are still original and will need to be replaced before winter.

Can you show a screen shot showing that’s the offer? I’m finding it hard to believe they’ll give you $21,500 for it even in trade value.

Actually, I can't - the offer "expired" on Sunday while I wait for my paper title to be delivered from NC. So I'll have to resubmit once I get my paper title (it would sure be nice if they spelled that out during the online submission process).

I'm not sure I'd bother, anyway, I know what the offer is and you don't seem to be seriously interested in the vehicle, so what would be the point?

Vroom offered $20,250 because they asked about mileage on the tires, whereas Carvana did not. Local Carmax online offer was ~$18,500, IIRC.

The reason I ask is that I Carvana’d another 2015 x135i with similar mileage, MSport and options and got an offer of 11,750. I’d be very interested in your car but not at 21,500. I’d be closer to the Carmax number.

Sounds like you should take the Carvana offer and run.

Can't help explain that one. I know the used market is up, in general, maybe that's it? Try plugging the details of your old X1 in to Carvana or Vroom now and see what price you get.

I plan to take the Carvana offer just as soon as I get my paper title in the mail.

EDITED -- Here, I just put my info in again, and even downgraded the exterior to include chips/scratches where there are no apparent chips or scratches that I'm aware of.

I can't believe those quotes... really seem way too high! Like others mentioned, 10-14k is what I'd expect. Just go for their offers and move on.

$14.5K is what the local Subaru dealer offered as a trade-in on the wife's new Outback.

Vroom came and picked it up yesterday. Carvana's communication and customer service were ATROCIOUS in my scenario and I decided a couple hundred bucks wasn't worth the headache.
