VRSF should work on the X1 too. It works on the 335i.

Important note on the tunes - the new JB4 that come with ISO FW DO NOT handle clearing of the code/CEL associated with using a catless DP. One of the versions of their FW (15) stopped this process. I'm still using an older board that is non-ISO.

It would be a firmware update. Just need to find the last firmware where it was still in place. I don't like the JB4 anyways so this is another good reason to go MHD.

Agreed, but you can't buy an older version from Burger now so Ebay/for sale section (and hope & pray) is the only way to get one that clears it. I still have v10 of the ISO firmware and an older version of their installer app, so I may put that on my board for the added benefits.

I'm not against the alternatives, but I only have one car and can't afford to ship off the DME to be unlocked. Might get another to dedicate for my 75 mile round trip work travel though, in which case all bets are off.

Thanks for the info guys. Does anyone use area 74 catsim? A friend uses it on his 535 and swears by it.

Yes, the Area 74 device works fine to complete readiness after proper drive cycle with JB4 in map zero or Mhd stage 0 tune. Install it then drive cycle properly and you will show proper readiness on all monitors and pass inspection. Then remove the Catsim for the rest of the year. Use a obd or wireless device and app to check readiness to make sure before you head in for the inspection.

The firmware is free so you just need to know where to find the older version. I don't think there has been a change to the boards.

There was 1 change from Non-ISO to ISO, a diode gets cut/removed. If you can find someone with the older FW, good luck. I posted here to see if someone had a version between 10 and 14 with no luck.

I'm sure I could post over on the build thread, but I'm guessing the post would be deleted as soon as Burger saw it to discourage sharing. Also, you must have the older software to install the firmware, as the newer software auto updates and prevents installing older firmware.

The diode being cut or not being in place isn't a different board is all I was getting at. I ditched the JB4 over a year ago so I removed all of my old firmware.
