Wheel offset help

Guys I'm being a bit lazy here. I've just traded the wife's E53 that we owned for 5 yrs in for an E84 X line. I've a set of winters that are 7.5x17 Et40. Will sitting 6mm closer to the front strut be a problem compared to the std 17" X1 winter set up ?

I appreciate I'll need to change the tyres from 235/65 down to 225/50.

Thanks in advance.

Not a problem, keep in mind the stock wheels are 18x8 et 30. So your gaining on the ET so the rim is closer inside but your losing .5 on rim width. Plus there is quite a bit of room up front.

Cheers my man, I know the stock 17's are Et 34 7.5", wasn't sure if the Et40 would be tight on the X drive.
