New Owner !

Hi everybody, for almost two years now that I was waiting to make a move on the new BMW X1 once available in Canada ... I finally pulled the trigger on a Brand new Deap sea Blue ( my favorite color ) with the premium, sport and light pkg. Pricey but so much required in my opinion. the sports seats are tremendous at the least, the xenon are superb and so much more performant than the std lights. As for the panoramic sunroof ... A real Charm !!!

About 650 Km on it and only good thigs to say about it. It's a blast. My first BMW. Hope it will stay that way in term of reliability ... The 4 Cyl. is really good. Sounds great and move the car very fast when needed. Enough said, heres some pics for you guys:

Yep ! The 8 speed tranny is awesome. Very smooth and tha sport shift mode is thrilling. I can't get enough of great twisty roads to go up and down through gears. Really a nive feature with the paddles or with the electronic shifter itself. A real pleasure to use. Like I said before I didn't have a single complaint about it since I got it. Humm maybe the fuel consumption. I know I'm still in the engine "breaking process" and it will be that way for at least 2500 km but at 12.5 l/100 km combined (most city) right now, I'm a little bit upset because of all the "officials" ratings that were supposed to be under 10 l/100 km from Canada enregy resources, etc ... cars magazines and even BMW. So, I guess I will have to wait and see what's coming out of it once the breaking period is over ...

Beatiful Car, I wish my dealer have brought up some with Panoramic Roof. It seems you did not went with the Idrive. Am I correct? Do you have any plans to put something in the box?

spirited / fun driving will do that. 12.5 is still great (if not excellent) fuel economy for a small SAV while having a hoot!

It depends on how you and where you drive. We used to be at 9.4, but then when I happened to be in it the other day, I noticed that my wife has gotten it up to 10.4. She does 90% city driving on average.

Don't sweat it, just enjoy it. Life's too short.

Yep, you're right. no I-Drive. At 2000 $ I had to quit on that option. My wife and I are using a little Garmin GPS when needed. Without budget restriction I probably would have take it though just for the pleasure and all additionnal features ... The goal was to take options that would add a "plus" to the driving sensation (sport pkg and lighting pkg). The roof is also adding to my pleasure since I'm a sun lover and can't have enough of it whatever season were in

The box itself is very practical to carry cds, sunglasses, parking pass ... So I will keep it as-is.

Thank you all for your good comments. Really appreciate it.

Don't want to be "rude" but I was really fortunate. I had waited almost two years the venue of the X1 in Canada and from the moment I pulled the trigger on the deal, I drove a Mini Countryman ( BMW loaner ) for a single week. They were able ( my dealer ) to find the exact configuration I wanted at the Montreal "Boat unloading dock" that wast just arriving from Germany. Talk about good timing ;- )

I understand though what your going through ... Almost two years that I was looking pics and reviews of the european model so ...

What's the config you ordered ? Did you pick some PKG, options ?

And to be honest the car is very fun to drive and usefull too. A good all around pkg.

WOW ! Your car is loaded. It is surprising you was able to put sport seats on it without the 18" wheels ??? Anyway, congrats. January is coming ... Oh and By the way, space gray was my second choice ! Nice color for sure.

Can you not get them on their own in Canada? For UK (and it seems other parts of Europe) no restrictions - you want sport seats, you can order sport seats.

I have them in mine, with standard wheels. Where I live, we have narrow, granite lined roads - low profile tyres and big alloys are a foolish combination as pavement mounting/surfing is a regular occurrence.

Here in Canada, the sport seats are available only with the sport Pkg which comes with the 18" wheels and the paddles on the steering.

17" are STD. We do not have as many choices as european for the wheels unfortunately. I know from the european brochure that you have many choices ( 17", 18" and even 19"). We do have 19" but only one model without any pkg ... But the 18" comes with the sport pkg only like the sport seats. I hate those pkg. I would have like to order the sport seats with the 17" as you did. But frankly, I really like the 18" now that I own it :- )))
