Alpina B3 TCU flash question

For those who have their xdrive35i's flashed with the Alpina B3, has anyone reverted back to the original? Is it the actual original TCU? Because the how-to thread I read along with reverting to original applied to a E90, I just want to make sure it goes back to original.

Also if we return to original, is this something that dealer can find out, is it logged?

i am not sure if this pertains to bmw but i know that audi is able to see flash counts even if the tuners are able to "reset". i have to imagine that bmw can if audi does but i cannot say for certain.

I've had the flash for over a year and have no reason to revert. it is a simple flash if you have the software.

AFAIK is is an approved BMW software for this transmission and should not be a problem with the dealer. had mine in for service and no problems.

Drive it and enjoy!

Hi guys,

How do you perform this flash? Can it be done by the BMW dealer?
Thank you.

This flash is for the 6 speed auto tranny paired with the N55 in North America. If you have something else, it won't work.

There are quite a few outfits/people who do coding. This is they guy I used and he was one of the first who got the Alpina b3 to work. $125 + deposit for cable. In addition to the Alpina B3, you can get other coding done at the same time for the same price.
