228i Soft top Loaner
Had my X1 in the shop today for an oil change and bad battery. The battery was only holding a charge to 65% so it will be replaced. They gave me a 2016 228i soft top for a loaner. Coming out of a 135i prior to he X1, I was quite surprised at the 228i. My 135 had a twin turbo I-6 and this one has the twin scroll turbo on an I-4. The engine in the 228 really pulls and it feels about as quick as my 135 did. Overall the fit and finish is quite nice and I am also enjoying the $1,500 leather seats. I'll have the convert until tomorrow because the car has to "sleep" for sit hours to register the new battery. At least the temps are in the 60's here in Fla and I can enjoy the top down experience.

Our E84 met an unexpected death and we replaced it with an LCI 328i. Didn't want to be a first year guinea pig with the B58 after having a second year N54 in our 135i.
Great motor, once the N48 is sorted out, the 330i should be a good little car. Even with the LCI, the F series is a bit of a disappointment compared to previous E series cars though. |

Had the top down most of the day, but when I had it up, it was as quiet or more so than the X1. No idea about the rain.

The N20 in the E84 X1 is also a twin scroll turbo I4.
