Can anyone further comment on the ride with the H&Rs vs. the stock MSport suspension?

On roads in the NE, the stock MSport isn't exactly comfortable. Are the H&Rs really stiffer?

I was hoping not to have to resort to KW V1s to at least keep the ride as comfortable as stock.

On that note, I'm wondering if it is possible to slap some 335xi springs on the X1...

H&R's are very comfy. I have no issues at all with them in terms of ride comfort. I think they are more comfortable than stock M-sport springs. With non-RFT, even better ride.

Were stock shocks used for this?

Another question: Tire Rack only shows H&R Springs for the xDrive28i and not the xDrive35i. Are y'all using the xDrive28i H&R springs on the xDrive35i?

Yes, we are using the 28i H&R springs.

I suspect most use the stock shocks but the ride height is not that low--still higher than a regular car--I don't see premature failure as an issue. This car is not slammed after H&Rs. You should be able to get the alignment within normal range or very close to it. My front camber was a little off in front but not bad at all.

Another question, labor cost? Just so I can use it as a ballpark number when seeking estimates. Thanks in advance.

Any time you put a shorter/stiffer spring on a shock that is designed for a longer more forgiving spring, you will have premature wear...there's just no getting around that

In my excitement I started a new thread instead of replying to this one.

CN: H&R springs are great, recommended without reservation.

The thing I don't like about H&Rs is that with stock struts/shocks, it will bottom on dips or potholes that may not normally pose a problem. I have an Infiniti G35 with lowered suspension but with Koni sport shocks and it handles such dips fine. Not so with the H&Rs/stock shocks. Doesn't happen often but makes me wish I upgraded the shocks when I installed the springs.

Makes no difference, even with the M Sport shocks (if they're indeed different), the H&Rs are WAY under damped. Not only that, as posted above, not enough compression dampening to keep the car from crashing into the bump stops during some higher speed impacts.

Yes. And the 19" wheels. But my infiniti has 19" wheels too. The Koni's also absorb even smaller bumps much better... a more refined ride.
