N20 engine oil feed line leak recall

Recently, I've been noticing a plume of smoke coming out of the exhaust for 10-20 seconds after I start the car which was off for a day or two. After some research, I found that this is a common issue with the N20 engines, and a lot of series were included in BMW's recall which extended the warranty to 10 years/120K miles. Ridiculously, E84 is not included in this recall. I was wondering if any of the owners faced the same issue and whether they went for repair. It seems the repair is simply replacing the engine oil feed line which is a $42 piece, but people have been paying in the thousands for this repair.
