Dinan is supposed to be working on one for the X1. Theirs could keep you warranty coverage and would probably be a little bit more pwr/tq than BMW would release in a tune for the vehicle.

But tunes coming from COBB and Eurocharged will probably be some making the most power/tq, although officially no warranty coverage.

That's good news. I still prefer the ease of use of the COBB, but more options are always good to have.

I asked specifically N55. Don't know about N2x.

Like multiple options as well.

Will just wait and see who produces what for how much.

Would like to see some stock dyno numbers on these various models. Once mine is broken in it's going to get dyno'd.

I thought I would finally add my X1 into the mix. Sorry for the horrid pictures, an iPhone with a poorly lit garage is the best I can do after moving across country. It is a 28 sDrive M-Sport with all the badges, not roundels, taken off.

Satin Black Powdercoat wheels
Black M Performance Grills (not visible)
25% Tinting all windows (except windshield)

I haven't touched the Engine bay but I am absolutely itching to. I am afraid of warranty implications.

I believe Dinan has stated publicly that they will not be tuning the N20. I believe Cobb has stated nothing is currently in the works for the N20, but it is a possibility.

Did anyone retrofit HIDs in the base headlights? I just don't feel like paying extra 6 grand for this feature.

Straight off Dinan's facebook page:

Q: James Lee - Any news on tuning program for N20/N26?

A: Dinan Engineering - Hi James, We hope to have Performance Software for the N20 engine this Summer.

Dylan's Coatings (www.dylanscoatings.com) and they actually are a good bit glossier than in the picture. I've got nothing but glowing compliments on the car.

When I was considering a 28i version X1 I called Dinan and asked ahead and was told they were working on an N20 tune and they had an X1 there. (not sure N2* or N55)

An X1 Mod thread and no one has posted any dynos of the vehicles being tested. What is this, a Volvo thread ?

Well we can't have such rumors running around so here's the first one I guess

Stock 35i dyno. Outside temp 72 deg F Mustang AWD dyno COBB shop.

Pretty strong stock numbers. Max in the three runs, 270HP and 288TQ

Possibly a tune depending on the results and cost. Going to keep the appearance as is pretty much. Want to keep the innocent look

I plan to almost immediatley buy the JB2. Seems like a no brainer. $250 for 50hp.

As I understand, its plug and play in about 5 mins, and throws no codes etc.

Is that correct?

I could go for the JB4, but the wiring harness seems more elaborate and complicated to put in and take out on short notice. Not to mention, I am not sure I want to turn up the boost THAT much and compromise the reliability warranty, etc.

Where was it sold for 250 ? Is there any chance you'll be able to get before and after dyno runs done to see any actual performance improvement from the mod(s) ?

'Stinky' over on BB forums is looking to do a proper, back-to-back test of the JB4, Cobb AP and Active Autowerke N55 tuning options.
Hopefully he can pull it together as I'm sure it would be of interest to a good many people

My X1 35i will be here in 2 weeks. looks like I can have the JB4 and the Charge pipe in my garage waiting for me when I bring her home... $600 is very inexpensive for 80 HP...
