2015 X1 Brake Pad warning light - plug malfunction

Hi all,

I replaced the brakes and rotors and later the brake pad sensor. I cleared the brake pad code but when I hit the brakes the warning comes back on so I assuming the circuit is broken.

Question: Is there a good chance the brake pad sensor is defective?

Or could the plug it fits into be defective? You can't really test the pins as they are so small... Looking for any feedback in this area. Thanks.

Much appreciated.

We had exactly the same problem. Garage was talking about transmission failure!
It was the cable to the sensor. No idea what was involved but it didn't cost a great deal.

Thanks for your time

That is what I was thinking. I may let my garage handle it as I cannot test the plug current. Thanks for the reply.
