Thumbs up I found a vertical cargo net that works

So we recently replaced the wife's Forester with a 2015 X3 x35i. It was CPO with 20,000 miles on it, and seemed like a pretty good deal at about $10k below new MSRP. After taking it home, we noticed a few aftermarket items including this cargo net. I checked it out and was surprised to see that it's a vertical envelope-style net instead of the standard OEM flat horizontal one. She added a cargo mat, which effectively blocked off the connection points where this net could have been hooked. So I decided to try it in my X1 instead:

It might not look very secure, but it's actually very solid. I can wiggle it around quite a bit and it does not come unhooked. Verdict: It could be maybe a tiny bit more tight (I think it's just slightly larger than ideal), but it holds groceries and stuff perfectly.

Now there's no part number on it, but I'm 90% sure it's 51477245211. If you go to ebay and look up BMW 51477245211, you should find listings for something that exactly like the one I have.

Thanks! I've been looking for one of these. Just do not like the horizontal style.

It's a little weird, because I can only find actual pictures of this net on ebay listings. Other online parts shops have the part listed as available, but nobody else has a picture. And it's about half the price if you get it on ebay. So if someone else decides to pick one up on ebay (they're about $25 last I checked), I'd be curious to find out if it's the same one I have.

That net looks a lot like the one that is mounted horizontally (on the bottom of the trunk interior in my F80.

Could you just take the F30/F80 cargo net and mount it vertically?

congrats on the new car
