When we were contemplating about getting an X1 and Tiguan we saw dozens of Tiguans and no X1s at all. Ever since we got one in early June we see them every once in a while, but it looks like in July our local dealers had some sort of a deal for X1s and now we see one-two almost every day.

In Syracuse there are a ton on the road already. I see at least 1-2 a day. My family alone has two- my parents have one and I just ordered one for my wife as a winter car. I love the x-1!!!

Since my family and I moved to Miami over the summer we hardly saw any X1's around. Low and behold, a few houses down from ours they picked up a silver sdrive28i and I located another house two blocks away with the Valencia orange paint scheme (not too shabby). This morning on my way into work I spotted two more, though hardly any 35i's down here as all I see are the 28's.

I have seen a number of them. A friend bought one a few months after I bought mine. There is one parked on the street a little ways from my office that I see a every few days. And then the random sightings when driving around town. It is funny though because I have a hard time discerning a X1 from a X3 from a distance. I could be seeing more than I think and just thinking they are X3's.

I have a blue/green one for a company car and love it. Havn't seen to many others around Tampa Bay except a orange courtesy vehicle.

Since they seem "unloved" and sit on dealers lots. Probably won't see many of them

Wonder if that's an area thing. Down here a few of those models are all over the place. The Cadillac, Mazda CX-5, and Jeep Cherokee. (not necessarily the X1)

I'm sure there are regional variances but assume they do a national average.

http://blog.truecar.com/2013/09/26/s...cle-inventory/

I agree, the CX-5 is everywhere I turn.

180+ days is likely to come WAY down once people start seeing more TV ads. I think the first X1 ad I've seen was only a few weeks ago. and the X1 has been available for over a year now...not sure how much sense THAT makes.

That TrueCar stat seems suspicious. Here's a link to a report on BMW's September sales, USA. The X1 seems to be doing very well.

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-relea...225994431.html

The TrueCar stat may be based on some anomaly. I doubt if Mercedes would be bringing on the GLA and Audi making plans to bring the Q3 if the X1 wasn't doing well.

On my three mile drive back to work from lunch, I saw my wife's in the garage, a black one a block from my house and white one near my work. I think we saw about seven this weekend alone.

It's funny that BMW considers the X6 a light truck, and the X1 a passenger car.
Also, how they lump the 3 and 4 series together, but keep the 6 series separate.

What I read from this figures, it's that the X6 is a flop, and something needs to happen to the einers to save them. And the X3 sales has plummeted, which could be because of more competition, but the X1 might also have eaten some of the market.

I think BMW has too many models out there right now, especially if you also consider major engine variations and Ms. BMW's fiercest competitor might be ... BMW.

Nevermind that they're seeing record sales and that the 1er is selling nearly as well at it ever did, same for the X6. They're both cheap to build and not meant to be volume cars.

I don't like the direction either, but there's no question it's bringing more sales to BMW.

The sales numbers say the X3 is doing well, what I can't understand is why there is never any inventory on dealer lots especially 3.0. I check BMW of Columbia inventory several times a week ( they have two X3 2.8 in stock) and rarely get more than 4 total. They were moving like crazy late spring and summer when they got their inventory up to 6. They were selling one a week for sure. There must be a tight allocation system for X3's because as soon as they get a 3.0 its gone in a few days.

BMW never intended a high sales figure for the X6. Since the model has been for sale since 2008, if it was a flop, it would have been discontinued by now. Instead they continue to produce them and are now building the X4.

Must be your local dealership. My closest one has about 27 X3s in stock. The one near downtown Dallas has 28 of them.

How does that compare with their X1 inventory? BMW worldwide shows X1 and X3 sales are almost dead even around 115,000 units ytd. I don't know how the allocation system works at BMW but this is a smaller dealer so they probably just can't get the allocation.

There are 28 X3's, 17 are 35i's and 11 are 28i's.

There are 27 X1's, 5 are 35i's, 9 are 28i xDrives and 13 are 28i SDrives.

Just for reference, they have 107 new 3ers in stock, but that includes E9x cars.
