Sending Nav destination and/or route to car

Does the 2014 X1 navigation system support sending a trip destination, or specific route, to the car navigation system from a personal computer using a mapping system such as Google or Yahoo? If so, how do you send it and how well do you like how it works?

You don't need a computer you can do it from an Iphone via the My BMW remote application. It works very well, i use it all the time.

Yes , you can send it from Google Maps. Click on the red address bubble marker thingy and select send, a list will drop down and you choose car. You need to tell Google Maps your email address the first time. once you send it you retrieve it in the car through Office then Messages. It works flawlessly.

What "red address bubble marker thingy" are you referring to? I'm on Google Maps now and find no such link. Can you provide more info?

Thanks, Vince.

In Google maps, when you search for an address, it is marked on the map by a red tear-drop. Click on it and select "more". Then, select "send" and "car". That should get you there.

txchas, thanks for the feedback. I guess your instructions are applicable to only specific addresses. The OP was also asking if route info can be sent to BMW.

Yes it can. There is a drop down for different cars, including BMW. See picture.

Agree that the drop down interface you've shown enables users to send specific destinations, but it does NOT do that for routes, that the user defines. You could send the destination to BMW navigation and from the navigation screen, tell the nav to direct you to that destination. But that is not the same as taking the entire route created on Google Maps and sending those routing instructions to BMW.

I found this article in Google Maps help which explains how to send a destination to the BMW Nav via BMW Assist.

I don't find any way to send a route.
