I know right? I was on the edge of my seat more than once... During the first half, Germany seemed like a different team than when they played Portugal. They were weak. Hope they learned from this and recoup for the 26th. Ill be sorely disappointed if they dont...

The Germany vs Ghana game was awesome!! Fantastic effort by both teams. They were pretty evenly matched (as the score has shown).

havent gotten to post this weekend but I'm extremely impressed with Iran's defense. Time after time they stood their ground. It took a back breaking shot by the greatest player in the world to win. As far as the USA/Portugal game that was a heartbreaker for USA fans but I have a lot of respect for what Klinsmann has been able to instill in this team, all they do is fight for each other and its showing on the field. Not the most talented group but when its needed they step up big. Lets get the tie against Germany and move on!

Portugal will not get through. Too many goals to make up. Total heartbreaker for the US, but I like our chances of a draw. I think we are starting to prove we can hang with top level teams with this squad. I hope they make it through so Klinsmann gets his due. Big gamble leaving Donovan home, but he will look like genius taking younger players.

Saw a great chart on ESPN this morning. It showed the % chance of advancing to the knockout round for each team in the group. I was at the gym, so I can't find the chart again, but it was basically like this:

Germany: 99% chance of advancing
USA: 75% chance
Ghana: 12% chance
Portugal: 5% chance

Did anyone else see it? My numbers may be very slightly off.

Alexis was very good, we were like you said, struggling to keep it 0-0 to stay on pole, so to say.
