New Car Advice. What do you think?

Hey all,

I'll looking to make a car change soon and wanted to get your guys' input. I've narrowed it down to the following so let me know what you think. I'm currently in an 11' X5M.

1)Maserati GT MC
Love the sound of this car. It looks amazing and seats 4. I don't have kids but its still a plus. Cons are that the 2015 model will be the last year of the GT and the existing model has been around for 7 years.

2)Merc AMG GT or GT S.
I grew a BMW fanboy and never really liked mercs, specially AMG's. But this car looks amazing. I love everything about it and am looking forward to driving it.

3)Porsche 991 911S.

Curious on how you liked the X5M. Looking to go down to one vehicle. Was impressed by the test drive of a 2010.

This is not an easy decision. For a daily driver the Maserati will be the most comfortable. My personal pick would still be the 991 911 S just because it does so many things well. It's luxurious, fast, and amazing feel. I drove a 991 911 from Georgia to nj and loved it. Make sure to opt for the panoramic roof if you decide to do the 911. There's no bad choices here. Enjoy!

how about the california t ? pricing here in Australia is different to North america so ignore if its out of your price bracket. Otherwise I would say the amg or if you want to save some money get the f-type however I am not sold on the ftype as a daily drive and i think the amg might be the same . M6, gt mc stradale, 911's make better daily drives.

Please just get a 458, LP700, MP4-12C or the new Huracan like everyone else in Vancouver.

Vote entered for Maserati. Basically based on looks and sound, as I've driven none of these.

Quick edit: The interior on the Maserati is definitely in need of a refresh, but I still think it's the best looking car and still my choice.

I'm going with the Maserati.

It looks and sounds great but the rims and tyres are so tucked inside the wheel arches. Nothing a set of rims and larger tyres couldn't fix.

The only reasons to get the GT MC are for the looks and the sound (both of which are extremely good reasons) and of course the back seats. The interior is also very immaculate even to this day with plenty of interior room. I was fortunate to drive one in a tunnel and the sound alone will make you melt. However, the technology in the GT is almost 10 years old. You won't get a back-up camera (only audible sensors), proximity key or push-button start for example. Also the car gets 13mpg and it does feel BIG and heavy. The MC Stradale version does a bit to help the handling of the car and make it feel more sporty but the base version feels very floaty and loose. Much more of a grand tourer than the MB GT will be or the 911. I seriously considered the GT MC but with the Maserati Alfieri debuting next year and all of the shortcomings, I ultimately couldn't justify it. If the driving experience was AMAZING maybe, but it's not the most athletic car to drive. It's especially tempting because a 1 yr old used Maserati (or even a new one) can be had at a HUGE HUGE discount from MSRP. But these cars depreciate insanely fast.

I'd say you should also highly consider the Jaguar F-Type R?

I drove the CaliforniaT last weekend...it's good but not great. The sound is still good but quite subdued compared to traditional Ferrari NA V8s. Out of any Ferrari it would be the easiest to daily drive but if you have that much coin you might as well get a 458.

Does the Maserati really seat 4?
I would complete discount this purely because of the extremely outdated interior.

I would go amg gt s for sure!

Maserati's have lots of malfunctions. No extended warranties are available. One guy I know traded his for a 911 when it was only 3 years old.

It is quite spacious in the back, it can sit adults comfortably not just children. But the tech as you said is extremely outdated. Still one of the best sounding cars ever made.

Hmmm I didn't know that. Nice To know.

Well if the interior technology doesn't bother you, it's a solid choice! It's got the sound and looks covered.. And well it's a Maserati!

I loved it. Still do. It's mind blowing fast. I'd get a 2011 and up though with the LCI tail lights.

Those cars are way too unoriginal (in Vancouver). No but seriously, how many LP700s with some sort of DMC kit or wrap do you see every day. It's ridiculous.
