X1 2.0d BMW Factory Power Upgrade

Greatings from Portugal

BMW Portugal are selling a power upgrade Kit for the 2.0d 177cv engine. The power kit upgrade the power to 197cv (+20cv) and the torque to 390Nm (+40Nm).

This kit consists of a new control unit, new intercooler, larger fan and new air intakes. It seems thats available for the 1 and 3 series.

Does anybody know if it's avaliable for de 177 2.0d X1 engine?

Regards

Power up x1 20d

Here is a German site that has some electronic "remaping" of the common rail .
You can see the extra torque and horse power with the use of these chips

And here is a Swedish site. I use this box in my other car, a Volvo XC90.

No i haven't try this chip. One friend of mine has bought a similar chip from amazon (or e-bay) for his 520 diesel and he says that the extra power appeared clearly. He also says that he made some kind of measuring cars acelaration and max speed.
As far as I am concerned, I am thinking serioysly about this chip because it is not expensive and the installation and uninstallation is an easy job. So, I am thinking of buing one , trying it and making a conclusion.

I talked to my BMW dealer and apparently the kit for the X1 is not yet available. However, the price should be around € 1,600 and includes in addition to the kit, full legalization of the car. The car will be officially registered with 197cv. I'm pleased with 177cv but if I could get some more power through the 1.000rpm to 1.500rpm and would be more pleased. Do not feel that this motor needed more power in this rpm range?
