Another New CPO 2014 X1 xdrive 35i

Good morning all!

First time posting, and first BMW that I have owned. We bought the wife a 2014 X1 35i drive over the weekend. It has 35,xxx miles on it. I wanted her to be in an SUV like vehicle but she still wanted something that wasn't huge.

My brother has driven BMW's forever but I have never driven one much,but, I love this thing so far! Its fun to drive and handles well. I am used to a twin turbo v-6, as I drive an ecoboost right now.

That being said, I have tuned my ecoboost and gotten a lot more performance out of it. What is a mild tune I could put on the X1 for more fun/MPG? Also, is BMW's stance the same as ford on tuners? IE they font find it they dont know about it, or if they find it the tune they can deny warranty if they can prove the tune caused the damage?

Also, my truck likes a .028 spark plug gap. Is the X1 finicky with the gap?

What are some things I should check on the X1? Is it worth doing the upgraded cowl vents so it cools better?

It won't help the MPG but either the Dinan Sport of JB+ are good entry level power boost devices. I went with the Dinan on my 28i and have been very happy with it.

I put on a JB4 and my MPG hasn't been affected. It's heavy foot syndrome, with or without a mod you'll use more gas ;-)

I did have to get an aftermarket charge pipe though because the plastic one that comes with the car broke from increased boost... or high Florida heat.... or both... lol
