The only problem I have is the traction control often killing the acceleration if going from low speed to high speed (i.e. passing, or the $*@% Honda finally turning off on a side road). Which is downright dangerous, and why I turn off TC the first thing except during winter. And that's a problem 28i drivers doesn't seem to have. Last edited by Grovsnus; 08-21-2014 at 06:23 AM.. |

i just started using manual shift full time cause i couldn't take it anymore. Much more predictable and fun to drive.
This also gets rid of a lot of the hesitation and then explosion when pulling out of traffic to switch lanes. And it stops the frequent and annoying double up shifting when you hit the gas while in motion. Try it. |

DS mode helps considerably & is my automatic right hand movement before a "pass" (I don't have paddle shifters) I will say, turbo lag IS real (no matter how good the turbo), so some of the lag is turbo lag. I have had several n/a and turbo bikes & cars. Turbo lag is always noticeable. |

My E93 335 manual had no turbo lag, my M235 manual has no turbo lag so because you say its turbo lag doesn't make it so. My X1 has lag but it has to do with computer programming of the transmission, I had the same lag on my 2007 X3 with a 3.0 NA engine. I had to have it reprogrammed several times at the dealer. If its "turbo" lag then why do manual transmission BMW's have no issue while automatics do?

There's the Alpina B3 flash, but I don't know how effective it is for removing this hesitation. I really hate this, and I will find a cure, if it's possible. Seriously, it's feels unsafe, sometimes. Oh, and BTW; I tried the manual mode, (no paddles) and it's a PITA. I've got an A/T; why should I shift?

No discernible hesitation in SD. Normally, I use SD except when cruising/really slow traffic. As far as I'm concerned ... not a problem.

More bumpage. Anyone been fixed? Our X1 will be going in soon for annual oil change and I'm going to get my SA in the car and do my little tapdance on the gas pedal routine. Maybe I'll park it aimed at his little glass office when I do it. lol naw I really do like my SA but this throttle thing is just bonkers.
