Will the US market receive the X1 Sdrive 20i?

Haven't seen any info on this topic yet.

I'm hoping that since the F30 320i hit US shores this year; that the E84 will follow suit...

i dont think it will happen in MY2014 since the pricing and options just came out and it was not listed as an option.

Also have you driven an F30 in the ECO mode? It is so limp i could never imagine driving such a heavy car with such limited HP and torque.

I doubt we will see a X1 20i or 20d. They sell a large number of 3 series here. I rarely see X1s on the road. It's all about sales and how many they can sell.

Drove the F30 320i. Definitely very sluggish.

But this will be strictly a commuter car seeing only surface streets a majority of the time; so power isn't too much of concern.

Would pick up the F30, but need the utility of a wagon type vehicle.

Have you looked at the countryman? It gets way better gas mileage and I think it weighs a lot less. I also believe the cost is close to $8k less.

This is a Bimmer board! Please post crap on the respective boards! I'm sure Lamborghini is a good car but we talk about Bimmers here!

This is a BMW board but not a fanboy board. Nothing wrong with posting opinions and alternate options.

Mini Countryman, Subaru Outback, or Mazda CX-5 are all more economic but less powerful options than the X1 28i.

I'd rather purchase a base model s28i X1 over the other options.

I do not know y you wants a 20i instead of 28i or 35i. But in my region, X1 only offers in 20i sDrive version.

I owned E36 318i, Integra B18c Type R and also a Prelude. X1 20i sDrive is a down tuned engine but the 8 speed amazed me on test drive and strongly believe a tunes will bring this beauty to a beast. Therefore, after 3,000km engine life, i bought a tunes to satisfy my thirst in throttle response and engine responsiveness. I am 65% satisfy with my ride in Hong Kong but i bet this figures drops when considering driving aboard. I bet 28i sDrive is what you'll need as it could be as fast as a 35i stock after a piggy back tunes. However, 20i cannot as it is running higher compression ratio with original config.

True when asking for an opinion, not just stating one about a car that is not even part of this forum, it would be like using this forum to advertise on, this is a discussion forum about the BMW X1 models, lets keep it that way, there are many cars better than BMW products and some makes that are not, either way i don't log on here to talk about mini coopers

According to the year end BMW sales numbers I believe they sold 6,800 X1's in the US basically in 4 months. Your probably talking 20,000 units a year which is a pretty good selling model but would still be below X3 but who knows because there wasn't much inventory. I checked Hendrick BMW in Charlotte a week ago and they had 29 units in stock and only had a couple all fall. If they put the 20d in the 3 series or X3 then we might get it in the X1.

Pretty harsh there. The original poster is asking about an engine that isn't available, someone try's to be helpful and offer alternatives and you go after them?!

Especially since BMW owns Mini and the Countryman/X1 will be basically the same car in 4 years.

Am I the only one who misses Mini being a Mini? It's bigger than a Minor! And the Countryman is nothing like the Clubman either.
Perhaps I'm just old and nostalgic...

Great car for the money (especially for "S" model), but can't stand the looks

The X1 with the M Sport package is such a pretty car
