It looks a lot like the BMW X1 because it is pretty much a rebadged X1 manufactured by Brilliance in China.

BMW needs a platform to sell lower cost EV in China so the current Generation X1 is the perfect choice since the next Gen X1 is already in development.

Think of this relationship between Zinoro - China - BMW similar to the relationship between Skoda - Czech Republic - VW/Audi... Rebadged last generation cars and sell them as new under a different brand for more profit.

The Zinoro would most likely never reach the North American market so there would be nothing to devalue our cars, it's just a way for BMW to stay competitive against VW/Audi in the global front.

And yes, BMW needs profits to develop cars we enthusiasts like such as M3 GTS and 1M Coupe etc... That's my 2 cents.

Concept sketches look like an Evoque to me, it's going to have to look better than it to outsell it though. Evoque is proving to be a hit, I already see more of them on the road than x1s and prob on par with x3 numbers

Just in case you didn't get it, his comment is powered by knowledge & facts, yours by racism and the lack of knowledge.

FYI, anyone wants to do business in China needs to be in a "partnership" with them. Based on looks, the X1 based vehicle is rebadged on the exterior but we did not get to see the interior if they downgraded on materials to compete in the Chinese market.

They are really lucky. They get to have the aftermarket Msport bumpers made right next door to the car factory so they can make them look like BMWs as soon as they leave the assembly line. No, but in all seriousness, this can be good for the aftermarket scene . I'm sure the bumpers will be made to mimic the different sport versions. We will see them soon enough.

Slapping an M badge on BMWs is exactly what BMW themselves are doing lately

Subaru did not share the BRZ with Toyota
It was a joint platform from day one
Since Toyota owns part of Subaru

BMW have been making great cars and also making great M models before all this crap

Doubt it cost much to make the 1m
As fas as I can recall it took about 6 months of development since its a (M3/335is) parts bin special
And if you honestly think selling all these cars is justified because they made a few hundred M3 GTS then yiu are greatly mistaken

What BMW is doing now is chasing every single niche of a car design because its now a pissing contest between them and audi about who sells more cars
Childish really
And we all know what happens when a premium company stretches itself too much. It's no longer considered premium

Before china would steal x5 design and now they paid few bucks to call it partnership... Still a cheap knock off

I see so many dudes drive the evoque and just laugh. So many cars we label as a "chick car".

The evoque is the epitome of a chicks car
