Radio removal pics

Found these pictures on aliexpress from the company that sells X1 GPS (Winklink). Might be useful for DIY radio upgrades.

I'm searching for a DIY on removing the trim pieces (plan on wrapping the Piano Black trim with brushed silver vinyl). This is as close to instructions as I've seen in my searching, so I'm going to bump this up.

I was helping my neighbor remove his CIC to install the Bimmer-Tech review camera retrofit. His console trim in #5/#6 is different. We were able to remove the center cross section with 6 buttons, because it's separate from the console. How do we remove the console surround trim?
The tabs on the left/right by the cable wire (right, unshown) are preventing us from removing the CIC.

Bumping this... having the same exact problem. attaching another picture, so hopefully people can weigh in...
just to explain what the problem is...

after removing all plastic coverings, you cannot remove the CIC very easily (without braking any parts) as the black bottom trim (the one piece that's holding the cup holder) blocks the CIC unit.

any help is much appreciated!
