Sun Visor Not long enough to keep out sun glare
Hi, I have an X1 35i. I am wondering if anyone besides me has experienced the sun visor not long enough to keep out sun glare during early morning sun rise and sun fall. I do realize that I can raise the seat to sit higher however I prefer to sit further down and it does not help that I am only 5"6". So far I cannot find any 3rd party clip on that will extend down a couple more inches past the visor. I actually created my own sun visor cover that extends down providing another 2" of sun glare protection and it works so well that driving into the sun is no longer a problem. It is the same color however I wish it looked more original.

Some are more light sensitive than others. And the torso height differs too. And there are hills.
Having a relatively short torso and being light sensitive, it's definitely a problem at times, even with the seat at the highest position and wearing shades. My solution is a sixpence, pulling the brim down to where I need it. |

And it also cuts down on UV rays. But then, you will have to get the BMW "sunglass holder..." |

I agree entirely, I'm 5.10 and often find the visor not long enough. If I raise the seat so that it is, the driving position is completely unsuitable. |

When I got my TJ (Wrangler) Jeep, the company had lowered the seats to allow clearance between passenger's heads and the roll bar.
Unless you were Kareem Jabbar, tho, the visors were now worthless. The Jeep seats aren't adjustable for height, so a cottage industry thrived selling spacers and bolts to allow the seats to be raised. It remains the best fix for folks complaining of sitting too low to use the visor, especially in cars with adjustable seats. Raise the damned seat. I'm having a hard time believing that the seats can't be raised/rocked into a comfortable position. If you're really that unhappy with the seat raised, use 'memory #2' as your sunny setting and memory 1 as everyday, lower setting. Moon |

Believe it or not, when we get sun in the UK thanks to Global warming, I found that it was too short and when down blocks half the mirror.
Who tests this car had 3 series for 2 days much better layout and you can control the temperature of the fresh air on your face |

I'm also only 5'6" and I sit with the seat as low as it will go. Visor only works when te sun is high. Sunrise and sunset and it's worthless.
I went out and bought a pair of good sunglasses from Oakley. They're a 4+1 which is 2 shades darker than most lenses out on the market.

I always drive with the seat in the top position, and think the visor is pretty useless. I'm not a dwarf either - back in the military days, I was 6' exactly. Now a couple of decades later, I'm probably a tad shorter, but not that much.
