With non-RF's tyre comes off the rim, you lose traction on that wheel, understeer, oncomming traffic etc etc. RF are designed to stay on the rim.

Nice forum...
I am on the same boat. Got a permit, and wanting to get a Beamer. Since its going to replace my Hyundai Santa Fe, need some thing that I can go bit off the track... I newer seen any thing about its off road capabilities, even how much ground clearance it has. Also some reviews state that it is very unconfortable. is it? |

Hi Poscher, welcome to the forum

There are a number of threads on this forum that talk about the off-road ability, clearances etc but in a nutshell: 1. Its a crossover, not a off-roader in the true sense 2. Its OK for occasional moderate rough stuff but you will get stuck well before a Land Rover Defender, Toyota Hilux/Landcruiser etc. 3. Its probably better than a Suburu offroad due to higher clearances and suspension travel. So OK for the occasional farm tracks but it drives like a sedan on the highway.
