Remote App on Android

Is the vehicle location function still working on anyone's phone after the last update? I sat in my car last night and the app said it was more that 0.6 miles (why not 0.5??) from my current location.

BMW has said very FIRMLY they will only support APPLE products and adroid can go pound sand. Considering I could program an adroid car UI in a weekend, I dont know what shit they are smoking or why they have the worst in car system to date.

Partial thread hijack: I was told the BMWConnect mobile app isn't compatible with my car (2014). Is this true? I tried multiple times to connect the app to my car but it fails every time, even though it recognizes the VIN. Any way to troubleshoot this? When I spoke to a CSR at BMWConnect, they told me there was nothing I could do.

BMWapps will not work with android on anything pre 2018. YOu'll only be able to MAYBE use BMW connected for GPS and door unlock if your car has an active data plan/Bmw connect, its $199 a year. Otherwise all you can use is an IPHONE for bmwconnect apps like spotify, pandora, gps etc.

I don't think that's true with the software updates. I believe some android phones do work and my phone shows that it's supposed to work, but does not.

This is for USB applications, bluetooth things might be supported better, but hard wire they will not, I've inquired everywhere.

I'd kill for android auto.

I'm not sure i follow what you are saying. The link I posted shows compatibility for bluetooth and USB and BMW connected app by phone/carrier. I searched using my VIN.

While connected to USB: - NOT Bluetooth

Using an ANDROID device -can you do the following?

Play audio
Operation via Control Display
Use connect apps like spotify and pandora and it shows up on the screen.

Or when you plug in does it say " please plugin a device" even though you are.

I get everything "works" on bluetooth, but via a USB it does not, and the website is full of shit. I have an S9 and it only works via bluetooth. USB just acts like a storage device.
