Haha this happened to me the other day - plus my lease pre dates the date of the paperwork.....ultimately pre dating my PCD by almost a month.

My check for msd and fees was cashed two days before I found out about the diff recall

I wonder if this delay should prove lengthy, if BMW is willing to reconsider our lease start dates. Based on my limited legal knowledge, I think one could probably question the validity of the contract if your delivery has not occurred.

Hi all,

Unfortunately my M4 was delivered to dealer on Wednesday ready for collection however I was advised on Friday that it was one of the vehicles with the delivery stop order. The dealer informed me that production is likely to stop briefly to rectify issues of cars still at the factory but should have a limited impact on customer orders. Cars that have been exported will be fixed at the appropriate dealer with the diff being issued asap. As part of BMW trying to limit the bad feeling they have organised a loan car until my car is delivered and have also scheduled a full track day to try all of the available M cars.

I did ED so my lease start date was back on 5/9. I would hope that they cover our lease payments until the cars are ready, it makes no sense to pay for a lease that you can't use but we'll see how they feel about it(common sense isn't common). I'll call and complain this week.

For ED, BMWFS will make one payment for you while it is transported across the ocean. Additional payments due to this issue are solely up to them.

I'm sure this helps the motivation:
-3400 cars affected...already produced!
-lets call it 2500 that have yet to be signed/purchased. probably conservative
-M2/M3/M4/M5/M6 cars affected
-average invoice ~70000? For giggles let's continue
-Audi/MB creepin' up BMW's ass for top sales
-2500*70000 = $175million. That's a lot of coin/motivation.

I was scheduled to pick up my 2016 M4 ZCP this coming Thursday (7/28). That was canceled last week when the Delivery Stop hit the fan. My CA has done the best that he can with little information. I saw the postings and told him about the stop, so he dug into it and found out that yes deliveries were on hold. They did offer that if I wanted to come to the PC on Thursday they would fly us back home, but I don't want to do that. I've canceled my flight, but haven't found out if I'll get a refund. I will expect BMW to cover those expenses if the airline won't do the refund and my CA agrees. So I'm waiting with the rest to see what happens next.

To my dealer's credit they are offering a loaner until the M2 is delivered.

I was advised that some internal components of the rear differential in a particular batch have experienced issues which have caused unwanted noise after a short period of wear.

does VPC even have the ability to repair such heavy mechanical work? i doubt it.

this is tough news.. but i think it's best if some of you just moved on. I'm in process of doing so.

I'm already in talks with the dealer to get me one they have on the lot. But i want BMW to eat the shipping costs. I have to spend another 1400-2k just to get it here to the west coast, since now i can't do PCD.

PCD can definitely repair this as they service all BMW employee vehicles that work at the factory across the street.

This is exactly where you want the car fixed, other than the factory. The VPC is the extension of the factory.

Cool to confirm this, since I was worried that they would want to ship mine across the country from where I live to fix it.

BMW offered to pay one extra lease payment for me because of this mess. I am supposed to pick up my M4 this Tuesday July 26th. I am planning to wait and see how Tuesday plays out before going ballistic.

If you don't mind me asking, did you talk to BMWNA customer relations or BMWFS about it? I plan on starting out with BMWNA and going from there

I spoke with BMW ED Dept/Special Sales. I also complained to BMW NA customer relations. I haven't gone too "crazy" yet as I want to wait to "delivery/presentation" day first

fixed? as in car is fixed? no, my car has been at VPC since 6/28, they haven't even told me what's wrong with it let alone when it will be done. i'm just guessing it's the diff since it's taking this long. If not the diff then my only other guess is that it fell of the ship and it's taking this long to dry out.

Oh. My CA called to cancel my pcd for Friday, so I figured everyone had been notified that they were not taking delivery
