Inner tail lights (halogen to xenon)

Hi all,

Maybe this question is asked more but I didnt find it yet.

I would like to have the inner tail lights (rear hatch) working as normal lights instead of only fog light function.
(Halogen vs xenon version)

I know that you need to replace the lights for the 'Xenon version'. So I already bought the inner tail lights and installed them but they didnt work yet. I suppose I need to code and/or have to buy also the outer lights.

Do I need to code tail lights like the headlights? (VO $522). or some wiring?
I compared the pins of the inner tail lights and they are the same.

Why would you need Xenon capabilities for tail light? It's not like you are trying to light up half a kilometer of roads behind you.
