Its basicaly just the width between the rear arches

The height from the boot floor to the parcel shelf

And the depth at the parcel shelf (not the boot floor as thats longer)

My local bmw dealer doesn't have any x1's for me to measure

Hi BassBoomBottom,

I just went out and measured my trunk, sorry boot, dimensions for you :-)

The width between the rear wheel wells is 93cm at the front of the arch and 94.5cm at the rear of the arch.
The height from the boot floor to the lowest part of the parcel shelf (when the door is fully open and the shelf it tipped upwards) is 43cm.
The height from the boot floor to the lowest part of the parcel shelf (when the door is closed and the shelf it lying flat) is 47cm.
The depth at the parcel shelf (from the back of the seats when fully tilted rearwards, to the rear edge of the shelf) is 61cm in the very center of the shelf and 54cm at the outside edges of the shelf.

Additionally, for completeness:
The depth of the floor from the back of the seats to the door sill is 86cm.
The opening height of the boot from the top of the door opening to the floor is 74cm.
The opening width of the boot from side to side is 108cm.
The distance between the side shelf supports is 100.5cm

Let me know if you'd like me to measure anything else!

Cheers!

With the rear seats tilted fully upright you gain 26cm at the top of the seat and 3cm at the bottom of the seat, and the rear of the seats is perfectly vertical. While this is a substantial increase in boot space, you couldn't realistically sit in the seats when they are in this position.

Cheers!

Yes, I've done this with an adult road bike, but I did have to take the front wheel off. With the rear seats folded flat, there is 66" from the back of the front seats to the trunk door when closed.

Cheers!

My road bike fits inside, I leave the front wheel on, just have to turn it to 90 degress. Got two in the other weekend, plus a cool box..

Bumping an old thread since most measurements are here... does anyone have the height from the floor to roof? I'm assuming this is somewhat less than the rear headroom of 39.7" but more than the opening area for the rear door (due to the ceiling rising a bit). Preferably from a moonroof-equipped car.

I'm looking to fit a small road bike (49cm frame) with the front wheel off and rear seats down, but standing upright using one of those fork mount adapters. My current bike, sitting on a flat floor with front wheel off, is about 60" long from the end of the rear tire to the front of the handlebars, and ~33" tall at the highest point of the saddle (which is 25" from the end of the rear tire). It looks like if I put the bike in backwards the upward slope in the roof might fit the saddle:

I saw one picture of a larger road bike that had to be placed in at an angle.... I could probable deal with that and would just make a stand to simplify the arrangement.

With the seats folded down, the highest point is about 31". Overall it's about 29-30" high.

This is from my '15 with moonroof. You might gain an inch or so without the moonroof, but someone else would have to check that.
