MAXPider floor mats
So I tried out the 3D MaxPider all-weather mats that are basically trays for the footwells. The fit was fine and they looked pretty good, but I got a little concerned when I realized they covered the dead pedal. And sure enough, after a few minutes of driving, I happened to plant my left foot only to have the whole mat slide forward. The part that covers the dead pedal is backed with the same velcro-like material that covers the rest of the mat, so it has zero grip in that spot.
So yeah, it's a bit of a deal-breaker for me, which is a shame because I like just about everything else about them. I'll probably just end up with the regular OEM rubber mats instead. UPDATE: Velcro tape FTW! I'm keeping the MAXSpiders. Last edited by improvius; 06-22-2015 at 07:23 AM.. |

So this weekend I decided to give them one more chance before returning. I went to Home Depot and spent $4 on some "heavy duty" velcro tape. I put one good-sized strip (maybe 4" x 1") on the dead pedal with the soft carpet side facing up. It worked perfectly. The mat, she no move, no mater how hard I push. I'll be keeping the MAXpiders now.
