Don't know if they will move the orange reflectors to the fender since I think it would look worse to break up the black trim that surrounds the wheel well.

Besides, when you're behind the wheel, what difference does it make?

And those that find it really offensive will melt apart their headlights and do their own mods. The aftermarket guys love BMW.....

They look like crap in the headlamp!!

I am excited about the prospect of it having the N55 however!
That looks like they will be there. Like the E90, they will probably start out there, and then go to the bumper reflector later on.

I like the X1 enough where I might get over it

I'm definitely not taking apart the headlights or buying the Euro versions.

Just my opinion mind.

Oh, and
8. Our fuel (gas) costs 3x more expensive than yours.
9. Our roads actually have corners.

So where do you live again?

Last time I checked, we have some pretty good corners in the US as well (Tail of the Dragon comes to mind).

+1

If I do PCD again, will definitely plan on doing a trip to Asheville and driving the dragon.

Sorry, no offence intended. You need to read my comment in context of another members remark as to the relevance of the X1.

As to corners...... Well I have crossed the USA N to S and E to W, probably done about 50k miles in total. Public, single lane roads (with passing places every 100 yrds) and 180 degree hairpins are rare. We have some seriously scary ones here.

Then again I have not done the Tail of the Dragon, will keep it in mind for my next visit

PS: I do remember crossing the mountains near Grand Junction CO a few years back in a 325i during a raging Blizzard. Luckily we had snow chains but that was plenty scary

Thats okay, I was just kidding around. Yeah, I have driven around Europe as well (not Scotland, but in the upper Midlands, Ireland and Bavaria), there are probably a heck of a lot more one-lane roads in Europe than the US, not to mention a lot more narrow, twisty roads. One thing we don't lack in the US is space and wide-open roads. East coast moutain (Appalachian) roads are probably the most comparable to Europe.
