M Sport pkg with Upgraded to 19" CSL Wheels!

I finally decided to upgrade my tires and wheels, even though my X1 M Sport is brand new. It came with Good Year efficient grip runflat summer tires as I have the sport package AND M Sport, so I had to change to all season anyways.

So here's what I did:
- change the 18" wheels and runflat tires to 19" wheels and non runflat all seaons tires
- selected Continental Extreme Contract DWS 225-40-19 front 255-35-19 rear (staggered)
- selected CSL replica wheels with BMW and M logo installed

Other 19" wheel setup I've seen looked a bit odd, because the tires/wheels "look too thin" and too narrow, but for some reason, they look fine on my setup. While it would be great to lower the car a bit, it looks fine the way it is and I love the overall look.

The handling/ride/quietness from the non runflat 19" are very similar to BMW's OEM runflat 18"s, but the new Conti 19"s are slightly more comfortable and quieter without sacrificing any handling at all. Overall, I like the non runflat 19"s better.

Here are photos of both before with 18s and after with 19s.

Wheels are 19X8 front with +34mm, 19X9 rear with +37mm. They fit perfectly.

The wheels look great!! They really change the stance of the car. Can I ask you where you got them and how much?

I'm looking to get 19" wheels as well.

Thank you! I live in Vancouver so I purchased them from Volco Tires and Wheels in Richmond BC. They are absolutely fantastic group. The wheels are CSL style replica - made in China but the dealers said they never had a problem with them. They are very well made as far as I can tell. They are about $220 each approx.

Hi x1driver.
I am looking to buy 18 M wheels. Do you sell yours?

Correction: I need 4x8J because I want to use them all year arround with all-season tires. I presume yours are staggered?
Anyway if you would like to sell them, please send me a pm.
Thanks

X1driver, I am very close to ordering a new X1 and have a question about the M Sport package. I prefer the M Sport in most aspects, but I'm concerned about the stiffer suspension, as I live in an area with many bad roads. I haven't been able to drive an M Sport to see for myself. What's your opinion on the suspension? How well does it handle rough or broken pavement?

hi CVICARY

It's not so much whether it's M sport or not, it's more to do with the sport suspension which comes standard with M Sport and also the larger tires. In my opinion, the sport suspension is about 15% stiffer than standard suspension with some improved handling as a result. The 18" wheels feel about 20% stiffer than the 17" wheels.

The sport suspension with 18" wheels is stiff but still manageable. I would not say it's super comfortable but it feels similar to driving a sports coupe or sporty sedan. However, I would not get the runflat 19" with sport suspension, I think that is too hard and stiff. I have a sport suspension with 18" runflat, then I changed to 19" non runflat tires and they feel similar.

Over potholes it's a bit rough but manageable.

I hope this helps

How do the 19" CSL wheels compare to those fitted on E90/E92s?
I still have my 19" M6 replica wheels from my E92, would be awesome if they just bolted up.

The 18" runflats ride and handle similarly to 19" non-runflats. That is, the runflats are very firm and stiff so they act like the lower profile 19" tires. I would say 18" runflats are very similar feel to 19" non runflats which are Conti DWS on mine. Hope this helps
