Rear Reading Lights - Upgrade Compatibility???

Hi all,

My car has part number 63319215603 as standard. These are the basic rear interior lights that come on when the doors are opened. There is one of these lamps either side of the car, as we have the panoramic roof option.

Question: Can I buy part number 63319215611 and 63319215612 (with the rear dome reading lights) and simply swap it over to upgrade? Fully compatible???

Here's a pic of the upgraded part I'm after.

If anyone has any pics of the connectors on both units so I could see for myself that would be great....

Thanks !

Didn't realise that was an option to be honest. I might be interested in this as well though.

Are you just doing the upgrade to get more light? Maybe consider high power LEDs instead?

I'm just waiting on final confirmation from somebody who has tried it before.

Personally, it's for practicality reasons. So that rear seat passengers can switch a light on for reading, or looking after our new born in the rear, when the other person is driving.

I really hope someone has tried this retrofit and is able to confirm :-)

Probably not because the original is going to be two wires (simple door open hot) whereas are the other is going to be three wires (door open hot and switched hot).
