Do X1 power seats have heigth adjustment?

I've had my X1 for a month now (S-Drive, x-line with power seat option). The owner's manual and BMW's website suggest that the power seats, for which I paid $995, are supposed to have an up-and-down (heigth) adjustment. However, there is one knob which moves the seat backward and forward, and another knob which tilts the seat, but neither of those knobs raises the seat up or down.

Is this just the way the power seats come or is there a problem with my seats)?

Could be that you didn't get it to rise because it's already as high as it goes.
It doesn't lift very far, I'm afraid.

I believe the sport seats have the ability to raise higher than the standards.

Not my sport seats. They go about an inch up or down. I wish they would go higher (or the steering wheel lower - one of the two).

I actually did figure out the knob but was surprised it was all the way up. I'm kind of short (5'8") and am not a low-rider kind of guy - I like to ride a little higher and am disappointed that the seat is limited that way.

That is weird. I'm 6'2" and can have plenty of headroom or motor myself out of the sunroof.

The range of seat height adjustment is limited. X1 is a crossover, not a true SUV. It is 4'' lower than X3. So, you cannot have a seat position as high as X3. The ride height of X1 is in between 3 series and X3.

The average male height in the US is 5'9" so you are not short. I am 5'4" and qualify as "kind of short". Sorry, just a personal rant.

Space wise for the driver, the X1 is rather roomy. It has more leg room than the X3, and good head clearance. The shoulder room can be a bit on the tight side, and the sun flaps are a joke if you're shorter than 6'2" or so, but overall, pretty darn good for a small vehicle like this.

Now the rear is for pygmies. It's really a 1-2 person car with emergency room for two more, not a people carrier.
