BMW 83300492668 Pliers/Crimp Tool

According to BMW, a special tool (83300492668) is needed for replacing the leather clamps on BMW Seats.

Is there anything special about these are will any pliers/crimp tool work?

I had a local upholstery shop repair/recover portions of a sport seat and it involved removing and reinstalling the cover. It was fastened to the wire frame using regular hog rings. Any hog rings and hog ring crimper tool will do.

I’ve never heard of “hog rings”.

That certainly opens up more options than a $45 set of pliers!

Do you happen to know what size Hog Ring Clips are needed for BMW Seats as they seem to come in various sizes.

I didn't know they come in different sizes... I believe they were about an inch or so?
There are different sizes of pliers, as well as straight vs. angled but the staples I think are all standard.

Having never heard of them before your post, I just found various sizes searching the web.

I recovered the seats in my old E30 years ago with OE seat covers. Didn't have hogring pliers. I just used zip-ties. They worked great.
