UK Dealer discount?

What sort of discount from UK dealers have you guys been getting?
Spec'd up an X1 23d SE can it came to £34,640 inc vat. Dealer offered below book on my trade in and only offered to knock off the £640.

Would be interested so see what others have been getting, any BMW I guess would be useful.

Don't expect much but I got £500 off and a few small freebies. Also got my mud flaps fitted for free. I think the situation is a wee bit worse now for buyers as both the X1 and X3 have long waiting times.

I got 2 grand off mine when I bought it in May last year for Sept delivery. Also got the 5yr service pack thrown in. Annoyingly I added things to spec after getting the discount whereas had I done it at order time I think I'd have got more off.

I also got a fantastic trade in price for my 120d m sport coupe.

I also have a well specced 23d (Manual) and managed to haggle around 8% off the total price including options last August for an October delivery.
Unfortunately the discount was negotiated when I initially ordered a 20d, so when I upped the spec and changed to a 23d I had to pay full price on the changes, but still probably worked out at around 7% overall, coming in at approx £35k.

I ended up selling my old car to another dealer rather than taking the BMW trade-in, though their offer wasn't too far off.

Ordered my Xdrive 18d mid October 2010. Got great trade in for my 3 year old RAV4 and also got £1800 discount from Menzies of Stirling. Picked up car 2 months later.

forgot to mention that discount was then to settle my trade in and therefore loaded on to the selling price hence the R406 000. I would have got it for R374 000. It comes with 100 000km motorplan, sunroof, leather, pdc, climate control and auto transmission....

Peter you bastard! How did you manage a R32000 discount? My dealer gave me a measly R15000, and I was not a miser on the extras either. I have an 18i auto too - see my topic Ladies and Gents.

How are you finding your car? What extras do you have?

Hey manicm, it's all about the timing- dealers get desparate toward month-ends in Feb, March and April...
