See the orange light near the gearlever? That's a USB stick, works brilliantly. Even if you remove and connect again the radio picks up from where you left off!

I have ordered black carpets - the beige won't stay so for long - only just noticed black shoe soil at footrest - will have to clean and Scotchguard - not good, but I was adamant I didn't want black interior.

Looking good but the steering wheel is on the wrong side. It makes me dizzy looking at the pictures.

Everything's just great so far, the performance is fine, handling/steering is just great. I just find myself using Steptronic quite often - auto tends to hang on to gears too long sometimes, but it's ok as manual is fun!

Have you tried the sport mode? Ie move the auto gear shift lever to the left.

Yes the Sport Mode's great! But it will chew fuel at the rate of knots!

manicm, you should've bought your car from a dealer in Durbs, the discounts are much better cause there are so many dealers but so few customers!

Yes, should have thought of that. What's interesting, is that dealers here in Gauteng generally weren't interested i.e. not responding to my emails or not returning calls. I guess that' as the X1 is imported they'd rather be selling 3s.

I was referred to someone at a dealer for used X1s, and after speaking to him on the phone and emailing he didn't get back to me. Very puzzling.

When I was looking for my X1 (in Uk) my parents were also looking for an X1 in Johannesburg at the same time. They had no joy with the dealers - exactly the same as you - didn't follow up, weren't interested in getting the right car to test drive etc.

After being a BMW driver for over 20 years, my father has now purchased a different make.
