The power of a moth

Last night my alarm went off twice. While checking the car the second time, I found a moth flitting about inside. I figure the moth set off the car's cabin sensor, assuming it has one. Otherwise it was some strange fluke that after I eliminated the moth, all was well.

Your thoughts?

Try pressing the lock button twice (with 1 sec interval in between). The 2nd press turns off the motion sensor. See if that's the one causing the alarm to go off

That's what i do whenever I have to leave my dog inside the car for a quick errand

I will try that if I have moth problems again, but hopefully not.

My wife's 5lb yorkie sets the alarm off like he's trying to break out of the car. Thanks for the tip about the motion sensor. Gonna' try that one for sure.

Indeed I had no idea there was an internal motion sensor in the alarm. I leave my little green friend, an Austrian Budgie in the car quite often and he flies around with abandon.

Thanks for passing this on.

No prob.... oh and one more thing...

to be sure that the motion sensor is turned off, when you press lock for the second time you should see that the alarm light under the rear view mirror should turn on for a second
