There's some talk of a X1 M35i over here :

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showth...=648267&page=2

Not really an M, but an M-performance model.
An X1 with a 320 HP N55 3L in-line 6, and performance suspension and brakes.

Could be interesting...

(And apparently coming state side as well)

The x1 has been out since 2009, would you trade whatever cell phone you have now for one from 2009? I wouldn't!

I also do not understand why the 35i has the old 6-speed auto and not the new 8-speed. Again, another example of getting something somewhat already out-dated...
That is the worst analogy I have ever seen.

If you have an Imola ZHP... Well let's just say, that is a driving contradiction.

I happen to agree with him. That 6 speed gearbox is rubbish. BMW is offering it deliberately, so not to step on the toes of it's older brethren, the X3.

And this platform is old, AND this x-car is now on it's LCI.

BMW dropped the ball on this one, If they would have released here in the US, that number should be 500,000 units. But BMW wants people to shell out $50k large for the X3. Not in this economy!! The "people" majority buying SUV's in the $25K-$35 range. All manufactures have stepped up the small SUV game. Just look around........The X1 is late to the game, in this country.
500,000? Factory constraints prevented US debut. How can they sell more than they can make? By the way, X3 is on fire and you can have a 28i for less than 40k.
